About the Event

This is a small processing group for trauma therapists, body workers, and other trauma workers in the Pittsburgh area that meets regularly. The group will be capped at 25 participants. If you plan to attend, please register. Bring your vicarious woes and we'll provide the compassion and virtual tissues.

Peace of Time has been adapting and navigating the virtual world for the last several months, which means, Trauma Troupe is back on, but virtual!

The October 2021 Trauma Troupe will offer a virtual somatic activity with our trauma-informed yoga instructor with room for processing following. Suggestions for the activity: During a short session of trauma informed yoga, be prepared by wearing comfortable clothing. You may want to utilize props, like blankets, pillows, blocks, bolsters, a yoga mat, etc. to make you feel safe and comfortable during the session. We will be experiencing grounding through movement and breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system. This can be experienced anywhere, but preferably a quiet space with low dim lighting.

Because of the nature of this event, we must include our terms and conditions below.

Terms and conditions for Virtual Trauma Troupe Somatic Work:

I understand that this activity includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress re-education, and relief of muscular tension. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated.  If I experience pain, I will listen to my body, adjust the posture, and ask for support from the instructor.  I will continue to breathe smoothly.

This activity is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment.  Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. By continuing registration for this event, I affirm that I alone am responsible to decide to engage in this activity and have verified with my physician that I am able to engage in this activity.  I accept that neither the instructor nor the hosting facility is liable for any injury or damages to person or property as a result of participating in class.
